Part of the Photo Love Story Series 'She Used to Hang Around' continues a series of works that started out as a photo shoot, then the images were manipulated through being cut out, repeated, collaged and photocopied.
The images in the collection have a personal story to me, but will resonate in different ways to every viewer. Is the girl a stranger or is she you? Why is the guy often angry or confused? Does it tell you about your own relationships or remind you of someone you know?
Like so much of my work, people try to place the images within a time, an era, but never quite manage to do so, and I think that it what makes them appealing.
Love and relationships are an age-old story, I simply look at new ways of representing it.
Oh by the way, She Used to Hang Around measures approx 12 inches by 12 inches (30.5cm x 30.5cm) and is sold as a poster print meaning it is produced on fsc certified paper, and delivered rolled in a tube ready to frame and hang as you wish, or stick direct to the wall with hunks of blu-tack or sticky tape, to the delight of landlords everywhere ;-)
