Part of the Photo Love Story Series, Love is Confusing was produced to sit alongside 'She used to Hang Around'.
It's difficult to write about, because the whole series is about the intangible elements of love, romance, flirting and probably more about missed opportunities than anything concrete. I wanted to capture those fleeting glances and trace memories; hence why the faces are repeated.
The red tie stands out like a dagger? a d**k? Or maybe a tie is just a tie...
The image is purposely degraded, through repeated photocopies of original photographs taken by myself and then cut up and collaged, copied and reassembled all over again until an image that I am satisfied with and says what I and trying to say emerges.
Love is Confusing, is sold as a 12 inch, square poster print meaning it is produced on fsc certified paper, and delivered rolled in a tube ready to frame and hang as you wish.
